Support the We the People Amendment,

and we just might get to find out.

Recent Supreme Court rulings mean that today our government is controlled by powerful special interests, including global corporations and the very wealthy, instead of all the people.

We must take it back.

We the People Massachusetts supports a U.S. constitutional amendment to reaffirm that:

  • The rights protected by the Constitution of the United States are the rights of individual human beings only, and

  • Money spent to influence elections is not protected free speech and may be regulated to ensure equal access to the political process for all Americans.

“I hope we shall...crush in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations, which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and to bid defiance to the laws of our country.” — Thomas Jefferson, 1816

Welcome to the website of We the People Massachusetts, a non-partisan, all-volunteer network of citizens dedicated to the cause of democracy.

Together, we plan activities and strategies in Massachusetts to help win a U.S Constitutional Amendment to meet the goals described above. We plan our work through 7 local chapters across the state and always welcome new volunteers and new chapters.

We have a high priority on public outreach and education to build support for the amendment and recruit more activists.  We do this through our presentation Fixing Our Broken Democracy.

We work at the local, state and federal level, choosing our strategies based upon political realities.

We have agreed on the following priority campaign goals for 2018:
